4:20 – A History of Papal Resignations
While papal resignations have happened in the past, the resignation of Benedict XVI is really quite unprecedented. In each period of Church history when we have seen papal resignations they have occurred within the context of a greater crisis in the Church, each case involving papal legitimacy and papal succession. Also, in each case the pope was under great pressure to resign. It seems though, that Benedict is suggesting resignation as a solution to a new problem. An historian of the Papacy, Andrew Jones, joins us.

4:40 – Carhart patient dead from horrific 33-week abortion injuries
29-year old Jennifer McKenna Morbelli died last week as the result of fatal complications suffered during an abortion at 33 weeks performed by notorious late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart at Germantown Reproductive Health Center in Germantown, Maryland. Jennifer came for a third trimester abortion from out-of-state. Following the abortion she began suffering chest pains and other discomforting symptoms. Her attempts to reach Carhart were unsuccessful. She was taken by her family from her hotel to a nearby hospital emergency room where she suffered massive internal bleeding into her abdominal cavity and died. Fr. Marcel Guarnizo has prayed in front of that very clinic and is here to discuss this tragedy.
